1. APOLOGIES FOR ABSENCE
Apologies were received from Cllrs I Thompson, M Ladbrook, G Garrett.
2. TO RECEIVE DECLARATIONS OF INTEREST or DPIs.
Cllr J Tyrrell declared an interest in Item 8 of the agenda being a member of the SHDC Planning Committee.
3. NOTES OF THE PARISH COUNCIL MEETING HELD ON 27 FEBRUARY 2025
Action: It was resolved to approve the notes as minutes and a true record of the meeting held on 27 February 2025.
4. CLERKS REPORT
The Clerk reported that:
• The new parish noticeboard for the office had been ordered.
• After discussions with UKFPS the fund had awarded funding to cover the cost of the new bins and noticeboard.
• All other matters to be discussed in closed session as they were legal matters.
5. TO RECEIVE CHAIRMANS REMARKS
The Chairman:
• Advised that motorcycles had been reported in the park and they had damaged the grass areas. A post had been erected at the Park Lane entrance but they must have come into the park through another entrance. The incident had been reported to the police.
• Asked if the matter of the common Pit could be added to the next agenda to discuss maintenance on the site.
• Advised that the Civic Society had purchased a memorial seat in memory of the late Dennis Tennant.
• Members of the Civic Society had agreed to obtain a quote for the refurbishment of the Town Pump.
• He asked Councillors to meet up with members of Long Sutton in Bloom and residents to tidy up the churchyard on a date and time to be confirmed.
6. FINANCIAL MATTERS
a. To resolve to approve Invoices for Payment
Action: The invoices for payment were approved and paid online in line with online payments protocols.
b. To resolve to receive the Report of Cleared Payments since Last Meeting
Action: The cleared payments were received.
c. To resolve to discuss and approve quotes for the remembrance silhouettes
Action: The Council resolved that Cllr J Clarey obtain quote from Steel Creations as discussed and bring back to the next meeting.

d. To resolve to consider and approve works at the Common Pit, London Road.
Action: The Council resolved to approve the cutting back of the boundary hedges to allow clear view of the site from the path for security purposes.
e. To resolve to consider and approve a donation to Long Sutton Cricket Club.
The Chairman advised that the cricket crease surface had been damaged by vandalism and the club were asking for donations for repairs.
Action: The Council resolved to approve a grant of £500.00 toward the refurbishment of the pitch.
f. To resolve to discuss the funding of the SH Car Volunteer Service and to request service
data for the Parish
Action: The Council resolve to request updated contacts and data for the parish
g. To resolve to discuss the Garden Waste Service and the allocation of correct charges
Action: The Council resolved to request correct invoices allocated to the correct parish.
7. CORRESPONDENCE
a. To note general correspondence circulated to all councillors prior to the meeting.
b. Resident – Speeding, Gedney Road
c. SHDC – Election Notice of Vacancy for Long Sutton Parish Council

The Clerk advised that the Mayoral and County elections would be held on 01 May 2025
8. PLANNING MATTERS

ACTION: There were no objections to this application.

ACTION: There were no objections this application to amend boundary for hedge maintenance
9. TO RECEIVE REPORTS FROM DISTRICT AND COUNTY COUNCILLORS
Cllr Tyrrell advised:
• He was a member of the SHDC Standards Board and the committee had closed several shops in the district selling illegal goods.
• Legislation was now in place to ensure shops served notices would remain closed during the Appeal period of 21 days.
• Offending shops would also be closed immediately when notice was served.
• The white lining of the car parking bays in the Market place was incorrect and the bays were too narrow on the public telephone side of the Market Place and those on the other side were correct and they would be re-aligned.
• He had resigned as the Portfolio Holder of SHDC Waste Services but remained a County Councillor.

• There had been an increase of 42 members of the Men’s Shed and total membership was now 147 members.
• The boat project on the Sutton Bridge Cross Keys roundabout was going ahead and was being sponsored by him and Ashwood Homes the boat would be set on site on 18 April 2025 and the roundabout planted.
The Clerk advised that all of the parking bays seemed to be incorrect as the other bays were too short and modern vehicles overhung the lines.
9. TO RESOLVE TO RECEIVE REPORTS FROM THE COUNCIL COMMITTEES AND WORKING
PARTIES
Events Committee
Cllr C Broughton advised that:
• The Beacon would be lit on Thursday 08 May at 9.30 p.m. with a piper, refreshments and music starting at 6.30 p.m.
• The Clerk had applied for the road closure for the 16 August 2025 for the 80th Anniversary of VJ Day.
Cllr Clarey advised that he and Cllr A Facey had attended Events Training in Lincoln and after a long day of presentations the general consensus of those attending was that due to Martyn’s Law many events would now be cancelled.
Parks and Cemeteries Committee
Cllr Clarey advised:
• the committee had observed the damage caused by youngsters on motorbikes
• wood chippings would be spread along the dog run to make the surface less slippy
The Clerk asked if the Remembrance Cross could be refurbished in the Remembrance Garden as it was looking worn.
10. MEMBERS COMMENTS
Cllr C Broughton asked when the fallen tree carving in Cinder Ash Park would be done and if the abandoned mini car in the parish council car park could be removed.
Cllr A Facey asked what would be done regarding the “Sensory Gardens” in Cinder Ash Park.
Cllr J Tyrrell Following matters raised matters in relation to the vacancy due to Cllr D Rose’s non- attendance.
The Chairman:
• confirmed that the procedures had been carried out in accordance with the LGA 1972 and LSPC policy regarding 6 months non-attendance.
• the Council should discuss the use of the Sensory Gardens
• the Parks Committee would look at refurbishing the Remembrance Garden Cross and the proposed carving for the fallen tree.
11. TO RESOLVE TO GO INTO CLOSED SESSION
The Council resolved to go into closed session to discuss item 13 on the agenda.
The meeting closed at 8.45 p.m.
