Cemetery Guidelines
IN ORDER TO PREVENT ACCIDENTS AND DISTRESS AND TO ASSIST WITH THE MAINTENANCE OF THE CEMETERY THE COUNCIL RESPECTFULLY REQUESTS THAT THE FOLLOWING GUIDELINES ARE OBSERVED.
- No permanent planting to be carried out in the Cemetery or Remembrance Gardens
- No glass, porcelain or free standing objects i.e. vases etc., to be displayed.
- No gravel, shingle etc., to be laid.
- No concrete edging stones or ornamental fencing to be erected.
- All Christmas Wreaths to be removed from the Cemetery by 31 January
- All refuse, bottles, dead flowers etc., to be disposed of.
- Cemetery water taps to be turned off after use.
- Gravestones will be inspected as required by law on a regular basis. Should gravestones be found to fail the required topple testing the stone will be laid down as required in the interest of public safety.
- All memorials to be no higher than 2’.9” in height and 2’6” in width
- Remembrance Garden memorials are to be flat and not upstanding
- All memorials are required to be ground anchored
- All memorials should be insured and are the responsibility of the family
- The parish council take no responsibility for the memorial
- The parish council reserve the right to remove any items which infringe the cemetery rules
- No dogs allowed in the cemetery with the exception of guide dogs
- No parking on the cemetery grass area
